Rovair Hotel Connectivity Model FAQ
What does RovAir do?
We provide your property with wireless, 3G data cards for rental to your guests at your front desk or on your reservation system. We also pay you for each card rented from your site.
What is a wireless, 3G data card?
It is a small device that plugs into a laptop computer which provides your guest with a high speed
connection to the internet.
We already have WiFi wireless internet on the premises. Why do I need RovAir?
"On the premises" is a key issue. WiFi restricts access to just your property. With a RovAir wireless
card your guest is free to take their laptop and connect anywhere*; at their meeting, on the trade
show floor, on the train, at the pool, at the beach. They may even take it with them to their next
destination. RovAir offers your guest a much more valuable experience.
I think my WiFi is fine for most of my guests.
This may be true, but many WiFi connections restrict guests from accessing their company intranets
and virtual private networks, making it impossible to connect to their work. Likewise, WiFi
connections are often insecure. Data card connections are significantly more secure than WiFi.
Besides, WiFi does not address the opportunity you now have from non-guests.
Non-guests? What do you mean the opportunity from non-guests?
Because our wireless cards are truly mobile, you are no longer limited to offering these cards to just
your own guests. There is a great demand from persons looking to connect to the internet on a
temporary basis who do not wish to enter into long term, expensive contracts. There are a number of
creative revenue enhancement strategies now available to you.
Revenue enhancement? How do you mean?
Here's one example: If you are a property in a resort area, you are often surrounded by homes,
townhouses, and condos that are rented on a weekly basis. There is a very high demand for these
persons outside your property to have internet connectivity while on vacation. Now, these persons
can be directed to your property and rent a wireless card from you, and you will be paid for their
connection. Usually these are longer rentals as well; Longer rental periods means a higher
commission for your property.
Cool. Any other examples?
Sure. If your property hosts meetings or is proximate to a convention center, you have a large,
captive audience with limited options to connect to the internet. Many conventions charge exorbitant
prices in the hundreds of dollars to have an internet connection. How many of these persons would
find value in renting a RovAir wireless card from your property? A lot.
Wow. Our property pays a lot for our present internet Wifi and the maintenance to go with it. Can
RovAir replace my present model?
Our initial goal is to become an enhancement to your existing offering. Many properties are obligated
by their brands to maintain a particular internet protocol, usually a WiFi service. While you may be
under contract to keep this, you are not under any obligation to offer your guests and non-guests a
truly mobile internet solution. If you are under no such obligation from a brand, you may no longer
want or need to pay for your present model. RovAir can easily replace the existing model, eliminate
your present expenditures, and create a new, unique, and residual revenue source for your property.
